COLORS

COLORS is a house designed for a father and daughter who had specific requests for the interior design style. The open roofed entrance hall separates the father and daughters’ living area. The light that filters through welcomes both guest and owner as if being cast the main part in a film. The father’s living area on the right side from the entrance hall is a simple Japanese style modern room. Opposite the courtyard, there is a 2 tatami mat study that appears to float in the air. Inside, the ceiling is in the shape of a dome creating a mysterious space of light. The left side of the house on the second floor is the daughter’s living area. On the first floor is a Japanese style room overlooking the courtyard used for welcoming guests. The colorful andon (paper-covered lantern), black tatami and red walls, decorate the room. The drawing on the fusuma (sliding doors) is was painted specially for client. The bedroom on the second floor has a taste similar to that of a European design hotel that matches the taste of the client who admires art.

COLORS received the Silver Award for the Interior Design in the International Design Award 2014
