A quiet house overflowing with light
Oiso, Kanagawa, Japan
- Type: Residence
- Total floor area: 99.42 sq. meter
- Design: Architectural and Interior
- Structure: Wood
While working on the design for cnest, we unexpectedly received an offer to design another house in the same neighborhood. As the conditions of the land were merely the same as cnest, the layout of the house is similar, but the way the light was brought in, and how the view the from the house was framed made the design unique. The long square windows were arranged in an irregular pattern that provides a breath-taking view from almost every angle. Whether sitting, standing, or walking, a picturesque view at any given hour of the day can be enjoyed. A quiet house filled with emphasis on contrasting light and shadow. The view is equally beautiful at dusk, with an impressive view of the sun melting into the lush landscape surrounded by the Oiso Mountains.
