A residence located in Suzuka city, well known for the most famous F-1 circuit in Japan. The client is a car lover, and requested a house that would securely store his car collection and motor bike. The land is a flag lot with a close to 20 meter driveway. The shape of the land was also difficult, in that there is basically no right angle of the lot to be able to store three cars. It was a challenging project to realize this design in 3D. Many difficulties were overcome in the construction phase, which in the end resulted in a beautiful and impressive space. The first floor was designated for the cars and a leisure space for the husband. The design enabled the natural light to filter through so that the beauty of the cars would be emphasized. On the second floor the windows were opened up to the sky. The use of the bright sunlight from the south was diminished, and instead the light was adjusted by the height and the brightness from the window. The house was built for the owners to settle in and enjoy life at home.
