A simple and beautiful cocooned living space
Cocoon is both the home and atelier for a jewelry designer. The plot of land is an irregular pentagon shape facing the road. To counter the issue of being in close proximity with the neighbors, we phrase the concept like that of a ‘cocoon’. While the exterior is eye-catching, the outer shell of the cocoon protects and nurtures what lives inside. By creating a slit between the atelier and the house enables the light and air to travel through the house. The shape of the land naturally creates 45 degree angles in the house that gives the rooms a unique look. The interior was kept minimal but constructed with solid high quality materials for the client wishing to live in a simple and beautiful home. The light squeezing in to the spaces leave an unforgettable impression. The details of each room were chosen with care so that the senses awaken a feeling of comfort over the passage of time.
